Hi there! I’m Savannah, but you can call me Savvy.
I’m Savvy, a Birmingham-based illustrator and designer who specializes in turning complex ideas into vivid visuals
Whether it’s simplifying a map of a tangled neighborhood, showing what creatures live in Alabama’s biodiverse rivers, or making national parks more accessible for kids, I’m your go-to girl for making facts feel fun and complicated concepts suddenly clear.
I studied illustration and graphic design at Jacksonville State University, graduating in 2021 with a BFA. My senior project bridged all my favorite things — character design, storytelling, brand mascots, and lush, colorful illustration — and set me on a path toward narrative art.
Since then, I’ve created illustrations for The Son of a Butcher, Alabama Rivers Alliance, and Red Rover, and collaborated with agencies on storyboards, posters, and campaigns. I’ve developed concept art for murals at Protective Stadium, spearheaded T-shirt campaigns for Southern Shirt Company, and built brand identities for pediatric dentists, videography studios, and outdoor recreation brands.
Alongside my commercial projects, I write and illustrate children’s stories — specializing in illustrated nonfiction that helps kids make sense of the world. I love finding ways to make complex ideas click for curious young readers.
When I’m not drawing, you can find me paddling down the Cahaba River, hiking Alabama’s trails with my club, HikeBham, teaching Procreate classes at MAKE BHM, or devouring a historical fiction novel at my favorite local coffee shop.
I’m open to illustration, licensing, and publishing opportunities. If that sounds like you, give me a shout!
